Runs in the family

Voting unanimously, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday ordered Laguna Gov. Jeorge “ER” Ejercito to step down from his post after it found him guilty of overspending in the 2013 polls.

Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada said the Comelec singled out Ejercito over other candidates accused of overspending during the 2013 elections. (from Philippine Star)

Er Ejercito is being singled out.

That’s the same old selective justice song that Erap’s son, Jinggoy, has been singing about him and his Hogzilla mates. And maybe there is some truth to it. There are a lot of law breakers out there, so why me or us only?

That’s always the argument of criminals. Ang daming ibang kriminal bakit ako lang ang nakita ninyo?

Well, for those who do not live outside the law, the answer to the selective justice argument is simple – follow the law and you will never have cause to complain about being singled out.
