Hernani Perez charged with graft, extortion, and falsification
After six long years, former Justice secretary Hernani Perez will be brought before the courts to face charges of graft, extortion, and falsification of public documents in connection with the infamous Impsa contract, the first case of graft four days into the Arroyo regime. Read details HERE and HERE
Recall that Mrs. Arroyo personally cleared Perez some years back. As a matter of fact, during the height of the Impsa controversy, Mrs. Arroyo even had herself photographed giving Perez a “beso-beso” at a Malacanan function.
Perez, his wife, brother-in-law and personal banker will be facing charges. But what about the other culprits?
Mark Jimenez, the first victim of the Arroyo regime, claimed that $14 million was the actual amount involved in the Impsa contract.
$2 million for Perez,
$1 million for the ‘boys’ at Napocor,
$4 million for the dwarf,
and $7 million broker’s fee for Jimenez.
We’re hoping one of the four sacrificial lambs breaks down and tells all.

Let’s hope Mario Crespo aka Mark Jimenez doesn’t break down and back out of his story.

Anna,
I wouldn’t discount that theory, I suppose Jimenez was brought back to clear Perez and not to pin down Erap.

With all the best will in the world, Schumey, it’s difficult to believe ANYTHING and EVERYTHING Gloria and her minions, particularly when it comes that department - justice.
To me, these news make good news copy - that’s all there is to it.
Good to just dismiss everything Gloria does as hogwash - realistically, that’s all she’s good for, oink, oink and more oink.
