“Manangs” acquit a rapist
I haven’t read the 71 page decision acquitting Smith because it has not yet been published in any newspaper or blog that I know of. However from excerpts that were published I’m inclined to believe that the decision was penned by three “manangs.”

They just opened the floodgates of rape. Now every rapist, rapist-to-be and sexual predator has a fighting chance to slip through the screen. They totally redefined the meaning of rape. I don’t know how a drunk girl carried out of a bar and then dumped half naked can be called flirting. If this happened in Japan or South Korea, Smith would be caressing cold prison bars.

Don’t Just Blame the Victim; Prosecute Her!
Oregon:
A 17-year-old girl went to police at the urging of her friends after she was allegedly gang-raped by three men, including her boyfriend. The men testified that the act was consensual. After reviewing all the information and statements, prosecutors decided they didn’t think they could prove a rape allegation, and so declined to prosecute the case.
Instead, they prosecuted the victim for filing a false police report. She was found guilty!

Don’t underestimate US influence in the decision.
We may say that it was Philippine ‘manangs’ that penned the decision but America bullied her way too and it worked wonders on the atrophied brains at CA.
