A couple of questions for Joma

Posted in Manuel Buencamino by uniffors on the August 20th, 2008

The exiled Maoist leader aka consultant Joma Sison came out with a statement calling on his followers to unite with the MILF :

The Communist Party of the Philippines calls on the revolutionary forces under its leadership to give full support to the struggle of the Bangsamoro for national self-determination and the return of their ancestral lands.

One only has to look at the Russian and Chinese experience with the Indigenous People, the religious groups like the Muslim and the Buddhist to see that MLMTT thought or any Marxist thoughts in any combination to learn that they adhere to the dictum that religion is the opiate of the people.

The enemy of your enemy is your friend………… nuff said.

    LOL

    J,

I’ve never seen Joma and Kim together, live or in pictures. Could it be that they’re the same person?

“Kapag hindi na mapanupil ang estado.”

Tulad ng dictatorship of the proletariat sa Tsina (People’s Republic of China, pala) na modelo ni Joma.

Too Old and Frail to Re-educate? Not in China

    By ANDREW JACOBS
BEIJING — In the annals of people who have struggled against Communist Party rule, Wu Dianyuan and Wang Xiuying are unlikely to merit even a footnote.

The two women, both in their late 70s, have never spoken out against China’s authoritarian government. Both walk with the help of a cane, and Ms. Wang is blind in one eye. Their grievance, receiving insufficient compensation when their homes were seized for redevelopment, is perhaps the most common complaint among Chinese displaced during the country’s long streak of fast economic growth.

But the Beijing police still sentenced the two women to an extrajudicial term of “re-education through labor” this week for applying to hold a legal protest in a designated area in Beijing, where officials promised that Chinese could hold demonstrations during the Olympic Games.

They became the most recent examples of people punished for submitting applications to protest. A few would-be demonstrators have simply disappeared, at least for the duration of the Games, squelching already diminished hopes that the influx of foreigners and the prestige of holding the Games would push China’s leaders to relax their tight grip on political expression.

“Can you imagine two old ladies in their 70s being re-educated through labor?” asked Li Xuehui, Ms. Wu’s son, who said the police told the two women that their sentence might remain in suspension if they stayed at home and stopped asking for permission to protest.

“I feel very sad and angry because we’re only asking for the basic right of living and it’s been six years, but nobody will do anything to help,” Mr. Li said.

Are you some sort of an expert?

J, you look like Kim Jong-Il yourself. Annihilate the MILF once and for all? Joma never said anything as militaristic.

Daming jakol dito.

  8. on August 22nd, 2008 at 1:38 am

Si Teo oo, simplistic daw……. on the road to capitalism daw, well exactly when did MTT invaded Tibet, aber…….

Again the enemy of your enemy is your friend…… but that does not necessarily mean they will be friends forever, hehehe.

  9. on August 22nd, 2008 at 1:46 am

Teo, “soyalismo” or socialism during the height of the communist power via the politburo was never even in your wildest dreams ever reached that stage. Socialism is the utopian goal just like capitalism trying to reach utopia which will never happen, perhaps in our dreams but in reality it is just a dream and people are dying in pursuit of the impossible dream because their brains fell off their index finger..

Tama magbasa muna bago magkomentaryo.

I didn’t want to put words in his mouth or yours.

I wanted you to be the ones to show the world the kind of double standards you practice .

Pareho lang kayo ng MILF, two tyrannical groups who claim to represent the oppressed.

That is the context of the quote.

    (7) What double standards?

hello, i’m not sure whose website is this, is it bunecamino’s? uniffors’? or somebody else’s? i hope you don’t mind, pa-comment lang ha? short lang ito…thank you.

wow nakakaimpress naman si Pedestrian Observer GB. diba, super nane-negate lang ng mega-effort niya at “historicizing” and partly “theorizing” ang pangalan niya. i like people who are trying so hard. i very much agree with him because if i didn’t then wrong lang ako. sha lang ang tama dahil hindi siya pwedeng magkamali kahit kailan lalong lalo na sa topic na ito. it is pedestrian observer and not the communists who should rule the world! but i’m sure ayaw niya ito, i bet mas gusto niyang mag-observe kaysa mag-rule, kasi learning from him, and from this entire article and exchanges, para lang sa sa mga bayolenteng masasahol ang mag-rule. si pedestrian observer, hindi siya ganon, you know, matalino lang talaga siya, alam lang niya talaga lahat-lahat pero sa kabila nito, he thinks he is so pedestrian. diba? ang galing, ang humble niya. sana ako na lang siya. sana ma-approximate ko ang analytic skills and knowledge niya. sana…sana lang talaga…

ok, that’s all, thanks ha. take care all of you. am,,, do you hate gloria arroyo? why? just curious.

    Teo,

I will answer you point by point:

Ang problema ninyong mga kumunistang maka Mao/Joma ay “different strokes for different folks means we will have to destroy you.”

And so what kung mas maraming napatay ang kapitalismo? Does that justify yun mga napatay ng Maoismo o ng jomaismo?

    7. Ang dobol standard applies to the case I cited. Of course you won;t admit it applies to you and Joma and Mao kasi you believe that your cause allows you to practice exceptionalism.

Action speaks louder than words and your alliance with GMA and endorsement of Joker spoke very clearly.

And that’s why maliwanag kung bakit nagissue si Joma ng statement supporting the MILF.

    –Teo

for teo: let’s see if you can still say this line after reading manuelbuencamino’s most recent intervention. i think he should have the last say on this. i do not care about the veracity of his statements. basta ang alam ko lang like the brilliant pedestrian observer, he is entitled to his own take on this issue. what’s your problem ba with him? why do you say he’s just nagsasalsal? he is just opining like all of us in the blogosphere. in fact, i’m thinking, as i key in these words, that it’s not that i don’t care about the veracity of his statements, i just assume that everything he says is gospel truth. just because it sounds like that. and all you have to do is listen and learn. he is saying something very important about the communists. does it matter that his statement conjures the image of a salivating mad dog ? not at all. people who can be passionate about their ideas are admirable.

my only reservation is his use of the metaphor “demonyo” as in “sumiping sa demonyo.” it’s so pedestrian, it’s so not beyond “good and evil.” i mean, you know, it’s not an elegant metaphor. sumiping sa demonyo, sumiping sa diyos, does anyone expect to register a difference here? well, that is so minor i can’t even believe i’m pointing it out pa. besides, why should my panlasa matter here? ano ba.

and, yung second to the last sentence, i’m afraid that to call that possibility (affirming the MOA in a context where Joma and company rules)”double standard” is wrong (which does not negate my impression that everything he says is gospel truth ha, this one is just technical, para next time perfect lang ang form and content dito). Double standard is used when referring to two existing conditions. for example, in a patriarchal society, may double standard ang mga tao sa perception and judgement nila sa mga kalalakihan at kababaihan. check yun kasi parehong nage-exist yung kino-compare. now, hindi pa kasi nanalo sila Joma and company, so one can’t say na double standard yung position nila sa MOA. gets? i think pwede naman na sinabi na lang na masama or mali ang position nila Joma
based on manuelbuencamino’s judgement. after all how could he go wrong? i mean, how can anybody go wrong about disparaging the communists? like almost everybody does that naman eh. so one does not have to go into their arguments or discourse. kasi if one does so, baka sumablay lang as when buencamino betrays his (mis)understanding of the concept of ‘double standard’ here. basta when it’s about the communists, don’t attempt at metatheorizing, just make banat and that’s good enough.

  16. uniffors said,

    on August 24th, 2008 at 12:02 am

    silvester,

mali nga yun dobol standard. Ang tamang description pala ay two-faced. Check out my new post on armando/joma.

I am disparaging Joma and Mao not those who worship them. How can anyone disparage the hopelessly naive and gullible?

Besides I am not conversant enough in communism to disparage it so I limit myself to those like Joma who claim communism is what makes them act they way they do. He reminds me of those bishops and their catholicism. Pareparehong mga hipocrito.

Nga pala, you think you or maybe Teo can explain why the commies supported Gloria for president in 2004 and Joker for senator i 2007?

Will a liberal politics really, ever be possible? Eh bakit mo pa tatanungin yan, if you have carved out your own narrow corner in the political space?

    Jim Ong,

Ah, maglalaro ba tayo ng class war dito ?

Si Joma ano ba ang pamilya niya? Mga pobreng Ilokano ba sila? Pinag-aral ba siya sa public schools?

Si Joma nad-aral sa Ateneo high school first and second year 1952-1953, 1953-1954. Moved to Letran for third and fourth year 1954-1955, 1955-1956.
