Life in Gloria’s Enchanted Kingdom

She’s still laughing

Lawyer Roberto “Oliver” Pulido filed an impeachment complaint against Gloria Arroyo as soon as the Senators left town. Cong. Edgar “Marcoleta” San Luis endorsed the complaint immediately. (READ HERE)

Oliver Pulido had previously filed an ethics complaint against Speaker Jose De Venecia. That complaint was heartily endorsed by Cong. Luis Villafuerte and a couple of partylist congressmen who, in the last election, endorsed Joker Arroyo.

By the way, Oliver Pulido used to be a lawyer for the Oakwood soldiers. But he was fired.

Meanwhile, Palace drumbeaters are pounding away at that section of the Anti-Graft Practices Act that works against Joey De Venecia and his father while they mercenarily ignore the two exceptions to the rule that exonerates the De Venecias.

Thank you for the breathing space, senators.

By the way, Sen. Enrile’s law firm was Joey’s legal counsel while all these alleged violations of the Anti-Graft law was going on.

And then last night, I got a text that I think is the clumsiest attempt at distraction. Ever.

Here it is, good grammar, syntax and all:

“To All Honorable Senators of the Philippines,
1. That the TEXTBOOK ANOMALY is WORST THAN ZTE because in this Textbook transaction the L/C amount was totally collected and had been going on for so many times and years at the detriment of the DEPT ED as end-user without replacement and even DEPT ED contented themselves to accept the erratum from the erroneous books delivered which some were ghost.
2. Whereas, for ZTE nothing has been collected yet by the proponent but just a proposed “PARTIHAN OR LAGAYAN”, nothing came out yet from the coffers of the government. If ZTE deal was done that will be the only time they will have money. In the textbook nothing has been refunded and come to think of it that this is a valuable loan from WORLD BANK and we will be paying for the interest.
Pls. bring out and revive this issue as we lost the much needed publicity due to lack of money and as you said no political backer whereas Joey de Venecia has a valid complaint plus powerful father, the Speaker” (END OF TEXT)

Well, I wasn’t going to fall for it and start arguing with the text brigade. So I sent them a short reply which I hope puts their text in proper context:

“Mas priority ang BACK OFF! kaysa sa BOOK OFF! kaya FUCK OFF!”

And now, even the Office of the Presidential Adviser for Corrupting Bishops, also known as Office of the Presidential Adviser for Religious Affairs, is being accused of having their own little last hurrahs. (READ HERE) Shit, I can’t think of a Back Off! pun for this…

She appears to be faking something. In Cebuano the big O means oplok or hanggaw.

    Manuel

Since you opened the topic of the OPARA and the CBCP, I’ll give you a confirmed rumor. A certain cardinal and monsignor has weekly meetings with the queen. Together with another bishop, they are now trying to consolidate the earnings of the entire Catholic church to invest in GFIs. This is how far I will go for now.

A certain parish which earns P60million in fees (excluding mass collections) is being eyed by this group to be their initial investment.

    Schuney,

Is a recently retired Archbishop from the north a part of this gang?

    Manuel,

I am not so sure about that. My source only went as far as pointing to 3 active priests. A cardinal, a bishop and a monsignor. Two were implicated in throwing out Ong and Doble from San Carlos and the other recently took over the biggest earning parish in Manila.

Isnt the Archdiocese of Manila one of the richest? And one of the big contributors to the Vatican?
